Venezuela’s Acting Gov’t Blames The Jews for Maduro Seizure

As if on cue, the Jew-hating left has descended into conspiracy, absurdly blaming Israel for a U.S. military operation against the Nicolás Maduro regime—an accusation as deranged as it is revealing. The claim is nonsense, yet Israel has every reason to support the action: under Maduro and Hugo Chávez, Venezuela severed ties with Israel, relentlessly attacked it in international forums, welcomed Iran and Hezbollah to build terror, money-laundering, and drug-trafficking networks across Latin America, and drove its once-thriving Jewish community into near extinction. Now, Venezuelan officials openly invoke antisemitic tropes—calling the operation “Zionist”—while Western activists and influencers echo the slander, proving once again that when a tyrant falls, the reflex of the Jew-haters is not to celebrate freedom, but to blame the Jews.

Like clockwork. The Jew-haters are so completely deranged that they naturally blame Israel for the U.S. military operation against the Maduro regime.

This is of course nonsense. However, Israel has every reason to support the Trump Administration’s decision to take military action against the Maduro regime. Under Nicholas Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chavez;

  • Venezuela cut diplomatic ties with Israel over it’s defensive war against Hamas in 2009.
  • Venezuela has viciously attacked Israel for years in international forums. Most recently during Israel’s existential war against Hamas beginning in October of 2023.
  • Venezuela allowed Iran to establish a foothold in the country. Enabling Iran to plan terror attacks against Israelis in Latin America.
  • Venezuela allowed Hezbollah to operate in the country. Enabling Hezbollah to set up money laundering and drug trafficking networks.
  • Venezuela drove it’s once flourishing Jewish population out of the country. With some estimates having Venezuela’s current Jewish population at 2000 individuals. Down from between 30,000 and 40,000 individuals at the time Hugo Chavez took power.

‘Zionist attack:’ Venezuela’s acting gov’t blames Israel for Maduro seizure

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez asserted that the US operation that led to the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro “seems Zionist”

Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, on Sunday accused Israel of orchestrating the U.S. operation that led to the arrest of ousted leader Nicolás Maduro, describing the move as a “Zionist attack” against the country.

Speaking in a televised address alongside senior figures from the ruling establishment, Rodríguez claimed that Israel was responsible for what she characterized as foreign aggression against Venezuela.

She offered no evidence to support the accusation and reiterated the government’s long-standing position that Maduro remains the country’s only legitimate president.

“The attack on Venezuela is Zionist,” Rodríguez said, repeating rhetoric frequently used by the Chavista leadership during periods of political crisis. Her remarks came days after U.S. forces detained Maduro in Caracas and transferred him to New York, where he was taken into federal custody.

Despite Maduro’s arrest, Rodríguez insisted that his removal does not invalidate his presidency. Venezuela’s constitutional court named her interim president during his absence, a move that has further fueled uncertainty over who holds effective power in the country.

Rodríguez appeared publicly with key officials, including National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López, signaling unity within the ruling elite amid growing instability.

U.S. President Donald Trump praised the operation, calling it decisive and declaring that it marked the end of Maduro’s rule. Israeli officials did not immediately respond to Rodríguez’s allegations.

Venezuela’s government has repeatedly invoked Israel and “Zionism” during past confrontations with foreign powers, a tactic critics say is aimed at deflecting internal blame and consolidating domestic support during moments of political upheaval.
