Like the rest of professional sports, the NHL is largely controlled by liberal elitists with a sneering contempt for the little people comprising the audience. Anything liberals take control of is repurposed to impose liberalism. Consequently, obnoxiously shoving moonbattery in the faces of fans takes precedence over entertaining them.
The Post Millennial reports on the big plans of the Nashville Predators for last night’s “Pride Night”:
The night will kick off with a “plaza party,” which will include an interactive “What Does Pride Mean to You” mural, as well as “activations from Imaginarium, Queertopia, the Frist Museum and more,” per the team. Musical group “The Cowgays” will be delivering the national anthem.
The first 5,000 fans received a Pride Night poster.
The team even unveiled a new logo to help promote politicized sexual perversion:

As for the likelihood that fans were not disgusted by this, Breitbart reports that hockey has the second most conservative fanbase after baseball. Only 5.6% identify as Democrats.
